Hi! I’m Shannon Whealy, a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher based in Plymouth, Minnesota.
Over the past few years, yoga and meditation have transformed my life.
I completed my 200-hour teacher training in the spring of 2016 so I could help moms like me (and their families) learn and experience the physical, emotional and spiritual benefits of this practice that I am so grateful for every day.
The mission of my teaching is to inspire students to connect to their bodies and spirits through yogic philosophies, asanas and breathing practices – so they develop tools to live more fully off the mat, finding love and peace within and more presence in each moment.
I would love to share yoga and meditation with you.
Here’s how to practice with me:
Small Group Yoga for Women
Experience the benefits of vinyasa, yin and restorative yoga in an intimate and light-filled studio set amongst nature. A 6-student per class limit allows for community and connection as well as attention to individual needs. Option to reserve classes on a monthly basis or drop-in for the following class styles.
Strengthen the connection between mind, body and spirit by linking breath to movement in this moderately vigorous Ashtanga Vinyasa practice. You’ll flow through a series of sun salutations, explore longer holds and balances, finish with meditative grounding postures and leave class feeling rejuvenated and restored. Each class offers something a little different and is set to upbeat music.
New to yoga or want to return to the basics? In this class designed to build a foundation for your practice, you’ll have the opportunity to explore in-depth and flow through a variety of standing, grounding and restorative postures, as well as practice breathing and meditation techniques. Perfect for all levels.
In this meditative slow-moving class we focus on gently opening joints, releasing stored tension in the muscles and calming the busy mind. Each session includes restorative poses that promote relaxation through emphasis on breathing, using support props such as blankets, bolsters and blocks. This is a delicious evening class that promotes a good night’s sleep so you can start the next day rested and restored!

As a family, we participated in an amazing yoga session with Shannon who individualized our practice to meet my family’s needs. Within the custom designed hour session, we were able to spend time on poses to help with flexibility as well as practice restorative postures and relaxation exercises. My children (ages 13, 14 and 16) are looking forward to their next session with her!” ~ Mary R.

I had back surgery two years ago and even one year post op was still having lots of back problems. Shannon introduced yoga to me during 1:1 sessions and was able to ease me into strengthening my core. She developed a program that was specific to my changing needs. As I got stronger and more flexible she was able to advance the plan and provide appropriate challenges. I now do group yoga twice a week and love how it keeps my body strong and flexible. After a year of practicing with Shannon, I am happy to report I am pain free!” ~ Shelly M.
